Acute Pain Management Without Drugs or Surgery

Many common solutions for acute pain rely on prescription or over-the-counter medications and invasive surgical procedures. • Chiropractic
  • Trigger point and joint injections
  • Physical therapy prescriptions

Pain Management 101

The goal of pain management is to reduce your acute pain. This refers to pain that is sudden and lasts less than six months. It is often described as sharp or stabbing, and it can range in severity from mild to intense. Acute pain is often a result of conditions like auto accident injuries, sports injuries, sprains, spasms, and strains. Our team can evaluate your condition and help you find the root cause of your acute pain.

How We Manage Pain

At Golden Gate Chiropractic Center, we take a customized approach to acute pain management. Our team takes a full evaluation of your medical history to gain detailed insights that can help us reduce your pain. We recommend procedures and pain management strategies based on your unique symptoms, comfort level, and lifestyle. You will always be fully informed of every step, allowing you to make informed decisions regarding your health.

Evaluation and Pain Management Process

At Golden Gate Chiropractic Center, your care will begin with an initial consultation. When you arrive for your appointment, your medical practitioner will ask you a series of questions to get a detailed picture of your medical history. They’ll also conduct a physical examination to discover the source of your pain. Your medical practitioner will always go over your pain management process with you so you can be in control of your own recovery.

Pain Management Methods

  • Chiropractic: Dr. Cancelosa uses chiropractic care to address imbalances in the spinal region that may be the source of acute pain. Chiropractic care is drug-free and involves a series of gentle adjustments to the spinal area.
  • Joint Care: Manage acute joint pain effectively.
  • Trigger Point and Joint Injections: Trigger points are knots in muscles that struggle to relax. These injections specifically target these areas to alleviate acute pain.
  • Referrals: If you are dealing with chronic pain or another medical issue that our practice cannot address, we can refer you to a specialist or other specific care provider to continue your healthcare journey.
  • Patient Education: Our team strives to educate you about your condition, your treatment methods, and overall health to help you feel informed and in control of your recovery.
